Course Stage 1 - Introduction to Astronomy

Our non-accredited astronomy courses are designed for people new to the hobby or those who would like to broaden their knowledge about the night sky and its treasures.

The course is run by members of Sherwood Observatory and covers various aspects of basic astronomy over a 6-week period on Friday evenings, beginning at 8pm.

Due to demand we will be running 2 instances of this popular course.

• COURSE BEGINS 4th September and will run for 6 weeks until 16th October - (except 18th September)
  or:
• COURSE BEGINS 13th November and will run for 6 weeks until 18th December

Note that any tickets purchased will only apply to the one course you choose to book.

Fees for this six-week course are: Adults (18 and over) £90, Juniors (Aged 14 to 17) £60.

Juniors aged 14 or 15 can only be accepted if accompanied, at all times, by their parent/guardian who must also be enrolled on the course. 

If aged 16 or 17, you do not have to be accompanied. However, your application must be approved by your parent/guardian by signing and dating an email/ written acknowledgement. Please email course@sherwood-observatory.org.uk for this, and any other enquiries.
